ONE CONTEXT MENU, CLEAR LAYERS

Create and handle, each in its place

New File creates. File & Folder Tools acts on selected items. Resource Tools handles images. Optional modules start off, and enabling them does not turn the menu into one long list.

  • Color icons make the three entry groups easy to scan
  • File and Resource Tools appear only for applicable selections
  • Each action can live in Finder's main menu or its own submenu

When you need control, it is still one small panel.

Set the full filename, suffix, destination and starter content in one place. Begin with a real Markdown draft instead of creating an empty file first.

More than an empty file

Enter project-kickoff.md, paste the first lines and create it. Naming, location and content stay in one path.

  • ⌘↩ creates; Esc cancels
  • Custom suffixes remain UTF-8 text instead of pretending to be another document format
  • Quick creation increments names; custom creation asks before replacement

Handle selected items only when you explicitly ask.

File & Folder Tools starts off. Once enabled, each action can live in Finder's main menu or the tools submenu; New File remains independent and uncluttered.

The current version uses a persistent sidebar for creation, extensions and preferences. Templates & Types, Creation, File & Folder Tools, Resource Tools, Finder & Folders and About each have a clear home.

Templates and naming ​

  • Multiple templates per format — Keep meeting notes, project readmes and other templates for the same format.
  • Duplicate and preview templates — Start from an existing template and preview the filename and initial content.
  • Filename rules — Build names from dates, project names and other fields, with a preview of the result.
  • Import and export templates — Back up, move and share templates, choosing how to handle conflicts on import.
  • Document templates — Create copies of your own Word, Excel and other documents, preserving their format and content.

Creation and next steps ​

  • Create from the clipboard — Bring copied text into the creation panel, name it and save it as a file.
  • Paste images as files — Save a copied screenshot or image directly into the current folder.
  • Open after creation — Continue working in the default app or an editor you choose.

Folders and tool integrations ​

  • Project folder templates — Create a familiar folder structure and starter files in one action.
  • Open tools in the current folder — Continue in your preferred terminal or editor at the current location.
